Part of the Zonta Club of Bangor’s advocacy efforts during the 16 days of activismwas a continuation of our annual Christmas Service. Each year club members shop for the mom’s and children who are currently being serviced by the local domestic violence shelters, (Spruce Run and Woman Care), in addition to the Good Samaritan agency which aids expecting and new teenage moms continue their education and train them in caring for their newborn. Our Christmas Service Shopping has promoted a long standing relationship of caring for these women in need and creating lasting fellowship with our members

The Club's 2nd Annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction was held at Sarah's House in Holden, Me.  The setting was lovely and the weather was perfect.  High attendance guaranteed success.  We were also featured in the local news!  It seems that this is proving to be an effective fundraiser for our club.  An aside: Zonta Club of Bangor has committed to a donation of $25,000.00 to Sarah's House.

Members of the Zonta Club Bangor present a check for scholarships to the Hammond St Senior Center.    1/2014
