You have several options for creating and updating your web site, requiring varying degrees of computer expertise. These are:
For Updating an existing page:
- Option 1: If you can copy the source of your existing page into a Word document,
you can make the changes to that document and email it to our webmaster at Webmaster@zontadistrict1.org. Our webmaster will try to update your page within a day or two.
- Option 2: If you cannot copy the source of your existing page, send an email to our webmaster at Webmaster@zontadistrict1.org and she will copy the source for you into a Word document and mail it back to you to update. Once updated, mail it back to our webmaster and she will try to update your page within a day or two.
- Option 3: You can create a brand new page any way you know how and email it to our webmaster at Webmaster@zontadistrict1.org and she will try to update your page within a day or two.
- Option 4: If you are unsure of what to do or how to do it, email your questions to our webmaster at Webmaster@zontadistrict1.org.
For Creating a new page:
- Option 1: Super Easy! Just e-mail the answers to a few questions to the District Web Master, who will simply copy the answers into the generic web page that has already been created for you. The drawback is that you have little control over the format or content (beyond the answers to the questions). Click here for the questionnaire and instructions.
- Option 2: Fairly Easy - requires user be comfortable with Netscape Communicator and word processing techniques. You take the generic web page that has been created for you, and edit as you wish, save and e-mail the new "HTML" document to the Web Master. Click here for detailed Netscape Instructions.
- Option 3: More Complicated - requires proficiency in HTML programming or any web page program, such as DreamWeaver, Adobe GoLive or Microsoft Publisher. You create the page or pages you want, and e-mail them to the Web Master. You can use option 1 or 2 first, then edit the page created for you. If you wish to use this option, please first check special considerations for web developers.
Before you start, gather information about your Club. Start with your Club brochure, if you have one. There is no need to re-create text that you or others in your Club have already worked on!
If your Club publishes a newsletter, we can post your most recent newsletter with your Club web page. (We can turn a Word document into a PDF file if you cannot.) See www.zontadistrict1.org/newsletters.html for a list of current newsletters for Clubs that are doing so.
Again, simply name the file "newsletter.doc" or "newsletters.pdf" and email to our webmaster at Webmaster@zontadistrict1.org. |
