Women in STEM

District 1 Women in STEM Chair:

In 2019 and 2021, Zonta International was pleased to support the Zonta International Women in Technology Scholarships to encourage women to pursue education, career opportunities and leadership roles in information technology. In June 2022, the Zonta International membership voted to continue the program with an expanded focus on all STEM fields, not only technology. With this change, the Zonta International Board approved a name change and offered the Zonta International Women in STEM Scholarship for the third cycle of the scholarship program in 2023. Women in STEM Scholarships were made possible by generous contributions to the Rose Fund from Zontians, Zonta clubs and friends of Zonta.

Unfortunately, ZI will not be offering a STEM Scholarship for 2024. It will be taken up again at the 2024 Convention.
Clubs can still offer STEM  scholarships. If you find it useful, you could utilize pertinent parts of the 2023 ZI application.

2023 Women in STEM

District 1 winner for the Women in Stem Scholarship 2023 award at the ZI level was Lily Chen, MIT. Her application was submitted by the Zonta Club of Berkshire Area Club.
