Every year on October 11, the global community comes together to celebrate International Day of the Girl. November 8th is a special day for Zonta International because it is the anniversary of the organization's founding in Buffalo, New York in 1919. The organization was founded by women who wanted to work for gender equality and a better world. 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence / Zonta Says No

Zonta International participates in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) campaign, which takes place annually from November 25 to December 10. The campaign's goals are to raise awareness of GBV, encourage action to end it, and influence laws and attitudes. Zonta's participation is part of its Zonta Says NO to Violence Against Women campaign, which was launched in 2012. During the 16 Days, Zonta clubs and districts are encouraged to take local, national, and international actions, such as: Joining the campaign, Influencing laws, Changing attitudes and behaviors, and Sharing their stories. This is one of the four times of the year Zonta suggests that clubs are globally aligned to increase ZI’s credibility and visibility on core issues impacting women and girls. January 11th – Amelia Earhart Day

Each January, Zonta celebrates the spirit and impact of legendary pilot Amelia Earhart, one of Zonta International's most famous former members. On January 11th we observe Amelia Earhart Day as we commemorate the records she broke 86 years ago and celebrate her contributions to the aerospace industry and her empowerment of women in science. Zonta International invites its districts, clubs, and members to honor Earhart and promote the Amelia Earhart Fellowship during Amelia Earhart Month. March 8th – Zonta Rose Day & International Women’s Day

Zonta International celebrates International Women's Day, which takes place on March 8th each year, as Zonta Rose Day. Zonta Rose Day is a time to reflect on past achievements and honor the efforts of people working towards gender equity. Zonta members around the world celebrate in a variety of ways, including: Donating to the Zonta Foundation for Women, Participating in local events, Partnering with similar organizations, Celebrating women's achievements, and Making special donations in honor or memory of women who have empowered us. This is also one of the four days Zonta suggests that clubs are globally aligned to increase ZI’s credibility and visibility on core issues impacting women and girls.

March 10 – 21: Commission on the Status of Women

The 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will take place at the UN Headquarters in New York from March 10 to 21, 2025. The session, also known as CSW69/Beijing+30, will mark the 30th anniversary of the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women and the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. The priority theme for the session is to review and evaluate the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, as well as the outcomes of the 23rd special session of the General Assembly. This event is held in NYC and MOST of the workshops are hybrid - and FREE. All Zonta members and supporters are encouraged to sign up and participate in sessions focused on their areas of interest. The Commission on the Status of Women is an annual opportunity to meet, enjoy fellowship, build bridges to other like-minded organizations, experience Zonta spirit, and become a more knowledgeable and engaged advocate for gender equality. Zonta International hosts annually at least one side event within the Commission on the Status of Women with the emphasis on Zonta’s strategic focus areas. Zonta International’s delegation to the Commission on the Status of Women increases annually by 5% over the previous year.
